Buddy of mine had a Seca xj650...was a nice little motor, but the shaft drive made for some awful handling...the thing had like 130,000 miles on it when he sold it running fine, never gave him any trouble. I think the 750's were chain drive. There is also a rare xj750 Seca Turbo.
Absolutely gorgeous! Eric

Where did you find a XJ750 turbo Sean? I am pretty sure if its a XJ750 with turbo, its an aftermarket conversion...

Dangerous, smangerous Bill.I got the bike a week ago and finally got to ride it. Attempted to start a couple days ago but the battery was too low, so I charged it and tried again yesterday-no luck. Put the battery back on the charger and tried today-no dice. I wanted to drain the float bowls(can't tell you how many bikes that have been sitting that have been fixed by simply draining the bowls of bad gas) but the screws are practically impossible to get at so I removed the tank(that is a pain in the butt to get gnarly old fingers in the little space). Found #1 plug cap loose and #4 plug fouled, cleaned the plugs and checked the bike for loose nuts and bolts(found loose chain and a reflector about to fall off). Started right up after reassembly, let it warm up and rode around the block, came home put on helmet, gloves and jacket but no pants(riding that is ) and took off into the barely above freezing climate. (probably shouldn't mention that or another global warming war might start)Rode for a hour-came back all warm inside describes the bike. Holy rocket ship Batman- at 7000rpm this thing kicks butt. New favorite bike BTW, it replaces my ex-favorite, which is a model I won't mention...Larry
Glad you love it. Suzuki nailed it with all of their big fours.
How does that bike handle(I know,I know it's icy outside)Larry ?
They tend to be in their "sweet zone" between 3,500-7,000 rpm where the torque curve is basically flat and the HP curve hits at about 5,500.Eric
I keep buying unloved bikes, that one is sweet!
I like my little Suzi, a world of difference from the Big 4's....'72 TS250
