Any Norton guys out there ?
« on: November 04, 2014, 07:20:27 AM »
Any Norton guys out there that coul dshed a little light on this:  http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/mcy/4728722640.html

I'll be stuck most of the day and won't get to do any fun research.    Was trying to gauge what I should offer him if it's even worth it.

Had a 72 Commando about 20 years ago that I alwasy regretted selling.   Haven't had a Norton pop up near me in a while.
Yep, I'm the kid that figured out how to put things back together...eventually.

Guy had a black 850 Commando around here on CL recently that needed finishing but was way farther along than that bike. He listed it for $2700.00 and it was gone within hours.

Wish that one would have been around me.   $2700 way cheap.

I was going to offer him $500 bucks - They are just getting harder to find.

I have done many of these bikes and are really good bikes if done right, this bike will take lots of dollars to make right, the 72 combat was the only year for the shaved head and first year for 32 mm carbs, the cams were big and often caused coil bind,so on mine I put in a megacycle and mikuni single carb kit, made it quicker and very user friendly ,the noc,is a great resource for tips on these bikes.bill

Thanks for the tip Bill.   I'll snoop around there this evening and see what I can find out.
