Sorry, I've actually done some SCUBA diving on 18th century wrecks, and those Wrecks would throw up to have something like that near them.  ROFL

Maybe the seller actually did a "distressing" on it to make it look that way??????  :)))

Clearly the PO used the wrong oil.

I would like to see how good vinegar would get that..
 His pricing is all over the map.. Has a 500-4 head  for around 60 bux.. Looks ok in first pic, but maybe. Has problems?

That's some fancy vinegar you got there Frank  ;D  Not only did it remove the rust, it also parkerized the cam!

If that you mean it was encased a foot deep in beach sand until it was discovered with a metal detector then yeah, I guess so.  ::) ;)
