Pretty amazing isn't it. Sad they cut NASA funding so much.

I have been following this story for a while. An amazing technical feat, Considering it was launched 10 years ago when technology less advanced than it it now. It is amazing.

Just read a NYT update that they've been able to anchor it and rotate it toward the sunlight.

From what I've read the repositioning maneuver didn't help much if at all and that they were racing to get as much data as possible before the batteries ran out which could be some time today. It kind of sucks that so much money was spent and the time waiting to get there only to get a few days of research but that's the gamble you take when it comes to space exploration. All is not lost though because the solar panels may get the energy they need eventually as the comet gets closer to the sun, it's just a matter of when.

As far as the scientist with the shirt is concerned I will admit he chose the wrong shirt to wear for an event that would be internationally televised. It's not every day you see a physicist that's bold enough to dress like that and showing off his arms loaded with tattoos so I thought it was pretty cool.

That's good news they were able to manipulate it before power reserve was gone. Hopefully its in some good sun now and they can fire up that drill and do a little diggin' and sniffin'.

Looks like it has gone silent as of this morning.  Bad luck does not take away from the impressive ingenuity of what they have done and what they continue to do.

As far as the shirt is concerned, I can't help but wonder how allowing themselves to be offended by a shirt is going to help female scientists be taken more seriously.  Did it occur to any of them that reacting that way makes them look silly and emotional?

Congratulations to the European Space Agency for a mission well done!  But please, next time, don't put the Italians in charge of parking!!

Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.
