Again, thanks for the comments!

Amazing.  I would park it in the living room and just stare at it until the weather clears and you can ride.

Thought about attaching a potted plant to it and calling it a vase... SWMBO still probably wouldn't allow it in her house...    ::)

The 4 into 4 exhaust looks new but may not be OEM...

I purchased them five or six years ago and they're (AFIK) some of the last of the OEMs to be sold. I paid $700 - $800 for them; since then I've seen them online in the $2,000 - $3,00 range.

...what paint did you use?

Vintage Honda Paint. He's not real good at communication, but the paint is first class and the folks at the shop where I had the work done were impressed by the low prices he's asking for the kits.

Today the bike left home for the first time on the back of a truck for the journey to Wells Moto - a "Metric Bike" specialist in Denver - for her "Mastering". I'm entrusting the pros to make her run as good as she looks; kind of a "dealer prep" situation. I'll keep everyone informed as to how that goes!   ;D

Holy crap, that must feel like when you send your kid off to camp for the first time they ever leave home!  Keep us updated on how it turns out.

Did you restore a bike, or just invent a time machine and teleport a brand-new one?  Truly beautiful, the best resto I have ever seen.  I hope your music project turns out as well as your Honda.  Which leads me to another thought . . .

Do you know Richard Thompson's "1952 Vincent Black Lightning?" It's a great song for British-bike riders to call their own.  There isn't much music for us UJMC types except that Beach Boys tune about a little Honda -- we could use a theme song for our SOHC4 endeavors.  Should we start a theme song thread?  Or perhaps a musicians' topic section.  Harleys don't have a monopoly on association with rock'n'roll -- they don't call the Ace Cafe crowd "rockers" for nothing.

I may be goin' to hell in a bucket, but at least I'm enjoyin' the ride. . .

Fat Rear tire? Looks absolutely fine to my eyes, but then I hate the stock skinny tire in the back of our SOHC's.

Absolutely incredible bike, sir. Beauty!

What a real beauty ! Sir I too stood at the showroom window , only able to think how to make her mine , one of my best days , riding her home , impressed me enough to still have several of the SOHC bikes !
Found this bike in completely stock condition in Feb. 08. Paid over twice what my new one cost 30 years ago. Am trying to re-create the look of the late 70's Drag Bike styling.More later. 4-2-10 It ain't stock any more and I have no idea what I am trying to create !
