Rear Axle Orientation
« on: November 18, 2014, 05:08:49 AM »
Needed to adjust the chain on the 77 CB750 that I just recently bought. This is my first time with a chain since my other bike is shaft drive, but the axle seems to be on backwards. All the manuals say loosen the axle nut from the right side... mine is definitely on the left side. Does this matter? All the pictures I've seen have the rear axle nut and cotter pin on the right.

Thanks,
Daniel

Yes, nut on the right.  The reason for me is the exhaust muffler on the right side, I would never get the axle aut without taking the muffler off.
