Thanks. But while I keep my Honda away from salt and snow, I love to ride my BMW in the Alps during the cold season. No other bikes come in my path and the mountains are awesome. Occasionally, I get snowed on, however. Just like in the above pic.

I tried saving this 750 from "winter storage" last year. Sadly, it was too far gone and just became a parts bike.  :(

Nothing like a good cover to keep your bike alive if all you have is outside storage.

I honestly don't know if I could sleep knowing mine were outside.  They would all be rather upset and would collectively decide in the Spring that they needed new points, a stator, a rotor, a carb cleaning... To get back at me.

Put some of the bikes away for the winter today. Started them up one last time. Have a few others on the other side of the garage under sheets as well. Left these more in the open because of little things I can work on still throughout the winter.

Bonus points if you can name the bikes in the pics. Brushed steel tank belongs to my little brother. His first build @ 16 years old. Almost done

Move south you guys! Here in Texas, even during the cold winter months, there are still 4-5 days a month that are sunny and warm.  Never have had to do "winter storage".  I ride 12 months a year, usually in a short sleeved shirt. 8) 8)

For me the 919 and the Shadow are stored in a portable garage (it's like a tent with a metal frame and tarp-like material over that), but the the K6 gets to stay in the garage. I like to think that I don't play favorites, but...

That varies from state to state, even county to county because of various fees that are added in. In California, I pay $ 119 per year total--but that is with a personalized license plate. I am from San Diego, and it gets never cold but might get wet in the winter time. No kangaroos either other than in the zoo or wild animal park.   :D
A good deal is the vehicle registration with the Army when stationed overseas: $ 30 per year no matter what kind of vehicle you register. But you get ugly local plates.

My CB750 K6 -76 is not in sleep yet. I have to perform another carb jetting validation test run. Then wash it when it's really dirty. I hope to do it this week before the wonderful climate turns to "normal" cold with snow from ongoing +5-10C.

Registration here in Sweden is not much since mny bike is a veteran (30 years old or more) I paid $8US for one year. (Otherwise not much for motorcycles ~$30-40US)
Full ensurance all year, I can drive when I want and climate allow me $250US.

You guys have it great price wise, we get ripped off big time.
Our registration is a combination of 2 components CTP Greenslip & Registration......CTP Greenslip which is for third party damage that component is for injury to other people also property damage which costs from $400-700 depending on the insurer and the size of the motorcycle also where you live and the age of the vehicle, also if you have a bad driving record
Registration cost component which also varies $120.00 so the registration & CTP for example on my Harley for 12 months is $520.00.

Then if I want full Comprehensive insurance for accident, fire & theft it will cost me another $500.00 for my bike it varies with the price of the vehicle also where you live and if you have had speeding fines, eg:bad driving record

As for my bikes over 30yrs old I can get those on vintage historic rego for $57.00 but there are restrictions when you can ride those bikes but thats ok as there Historic club runs most weekends

That is very much the same as here then. I was merely quoting the registration renewal fees. Proof of adequate liability insurance is required to register or renew, and its price depends also on bike, age of driver, annual mileage, etc..

Question: what do you guys in the USA pay a year for registration on your bike?
Any vehicle 30+ years old, here in Washington State, is eligible for 'collector vehicle' license plates.
Both my 350F and 750K were about $120 each.  Its a one time charge.
If you want a regular plate, you're probably looking $50-$80
The Collector special plate supposedly comes with a yearly mileage limit and 'event only' status.
I dont know how they can verify mileage/year, and ive never been stopped when there wasnt an event going on  ::)
