Bought a used '72 cb750 engine. I cleaned out the oil pan, checked the plugs, looked around in the valve tappet ports, and everything seems cool. Is there anything else I should check/do before throwing it in the frame? Thanks!

I would lift the valve cover, make sure oil jets are clear, nip up the torque on the cylinder head and replace the cam tower "pucks"  These pucks are likely to start leaking, and when they do, it's a mess!...It's easy to do a compression or leakdown test with the motor out of the frame too.  The compression test will tell you if you need to go any further than that.
If it works good, it looks good...
