Good thread. That 350 is nice, makes me want one - with a 400 mill. What makes the difference is that he kept the tank and side cover badges, the only improvement I could suggest would be to keep the original tank striping, maybe stylized in black to fit the rest of the bike. Too many bikes have the emblem holes filled out and no tank decals - and they looks like what they are - the cheap, easy and quick solution. The early bikes have simple decals, which to my eye look best.
And I'd like to warn against fancy airbrush jobs like that tree motive on the 550. They can be difficult to live with over time, you get tired of them, and what seemed like a good idea at the time ages pretty quickly. In this way a stock color or plain custom color like the 350 is way better. This from personal experience; I had a 750 with custom paint courtesy the PO. It was pretty subdued, no nipples or forked spears trying to make a statement, and yet I grew tired of it after a couple of years and ended up painting it over. I do though wish I still had it.
And while I'm posting, let me <rant>. I have only two black/white photos of that 750 - didn't own a camera in the late seventies - and the wife has buried them somewhere in the attic. So I can't #ยค%&ing find them.</rant>
