I need a cb650c choke cable

Hey all,
My 1981 CB650C choke cable broke at the top where it mounts to the indicator light panel. It looks like the previous owner had over tightened the mounting nuts and cracked the plastic. i went to my local bike shop and ordered a new one. as soon as I got home, the bike shop called and told me the cable is no longer available from Honda. They were no real help trying to find aftermarket ones. HELP! Cold starting my bike without a choke is a pain.

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement cable?

Has anyone retrofitted or fabricated a choke lever like the one on my old 76 cb750k, that would work on a cb650c with CV carbs?
