We've always figured we'd eventually get one of these, there is an arhma class for them.

Here is th start, and finally got a call back just now. Anticipation over, who has a frame for the right price?.

No problems. I just got it home, the guy said he really didn't know what he was getting into, so he passed it on.  The cam chain is taken apart, but that's as far as he went with it.

Funny he had an motorless  e-3 in his garage, and I mentioned my friend had just sold his '88 m-3, and I heard the other side of the story. He said he knew of the car, someone had taken a pic and posted it on facebook, his  acquaintance had searched DMV to find my friend that ended up selling  it. His story is that he got a knock at the door and there was a Persian guy that wanted to restore an m-3 and was looking for one that hadn't been raced.  He gave him his crazy price an the guy bought it.

Anyway, we always knew we'd eventually start a 350 project.  For one there were a bazzilion of them made.

Second, way back in the early days someone ran one in the  formula 500 class, so that precedent gets the humble 350 into the ahrma 500 class today.

I have a ratty old 350 twin in my garage.  The only year of the disk brake ('73).  I'm having a devil of a time finding a decent (reasonable) exhaust for it.

My friend is busting into it. He says someone ground down some screw heads trying to get them out instead of drilling. Consistant with the story that the guy got in over his head on repairing it and gave up on it.

I guess the pustons moved a bit, but not turning over. It has a bit of rust in the bores, he says. I haven't looked at it lately.

Price was right, the guy was happy to see it out of his garage and going to a good home.

Okay, the jugs are off the first motor. someone ground the heads off the screws on the clutch cover instead of drilling, but here's the next deal.

Two more motors, one dis-assembled and another that turns over left  in a scrapped out frame (?)!. It included  one set of carbs, air boxes and side covers, $25 firm. Well bought and wrangled it back to the corral. Saw a whole cl350 rust bucket with title for $200 but missed getting it, but either way it appears god wants at least one  tree fiddy twin in the fleet.

I have exactly the same thing happening with a newer member here, he has a part that he doesn't like {ugly}, so  I asked him if i could buy it, he replied in a PM and asked me to make an offer, I did and haven't heard a thing since, over 2 weeks now, he has been on the forum as I've seen him logged in as late as 2 days ago, I also asked if he could let me know asap as i have other parts being sent from the US soon and this part could be sent to the guy thats sending my other parts, still no reply....  I conduct my business promptly and respectfully, I'm sure everyone i've bought parts off here would agree, Tardiness pisses me off.....

Both of these deals ended up going pretty smoothly, sometimes the cell phone/ connectivity fails for personal or technical reasons, but these were just smooth transactions.

The guy on the second deal said,  "I see you're  packing, too."  I guess my wallet and can of tobacco looked about gun sized.  I then said jokingly I was going to ask him on the phone if he could meet us at the OKC jail to do the transaction  ???(about a 100 mi. round trip for him).

They advertize it as a safe place for city rats to do transactions  when the CL characters they are dealing with may be shady scam larsonists.  Of course as much as the authorities try to find solutions for theses problems, idiots are all abound.. ;D

I made a deal here where I was to do some shopping and ended up co-mingling funds, and  delayed a couple weeks to get back with a guy, but made sure to make it right A$AP.  I think everyone knows that things don't always go as planned, but other times you can be  fcuk'd from the start because of a scammer's intent.

Anyway, that was a nice boatload of parts in the second deal, and the motor on the table rolls over,  for about the price of the set of side covers.
