Custom copper head gaskets?
« on: December 14, 2014, 06:39:12 PM »
I recently aquired another CB350F (I know it's not a speed machine) for free and I figured why not have some fun. I'm planning on boring it out to 51mm and was wondering who to contact about making a custom head gasket. I've heard of guys running custom gaskets but I can't find any information on where they get them done.

Is there anything more fun than riding? They are between your legs and are quiet when you turn them off.

Copper is a good option for high compression and can be re-annealed to re use. But from my experience they will always weep slightly. If you're having a custom gasket produced for a street bike consider a multi layer steel gasket instead.

That's good information as well. I haven't decided if this will be seeing much track use or not. I guess it depends on if Santa decides to park that shiny 675 in my garage. :)

Cometic will make a custom gasket copper, graphite composite or MLS in any bore and thickness that you desire for less than a stock gasket costs.
They also make every gasket that is included in every Wiseco piston kit.

If You can't fix it with a hammer, You've got an electrical problem.
