Well,  even if we aren't fast, we want to look good-that's what my brother said to me by the way.  Lol. But I told him
pretty never won a race and that's our goal.  I want  to make this bike as consistent and reliable as my F2. I've got no complaints with it in 20 plus years.

UPS dropped off this box. Decided to go with flatslides to make the bike easier to ride for my brother.

Forgot to give a shout out to Kenny at Cycle Ex for hooking me up with the carbs. Thanks for your continued support on bringing this project to fruition!!!

Curious to see how you like those carbs.  If I ever get my bike together I was considering those.

Time to do a little troubleshooting on this new build. Also have a few odds and ends to tidy up.

No Sam, he didn't ride. In fact , neither one of us made a pass on the new bike. I've had  a few bugs to figure out.

I've been troubleshooting the bike for the last few days and I think I located the main source of my running issue.  I had a loose connection at the solid state relay leading to the main fuse box so I tightened up the connection. I also pulled the carbs and rejetted the pilot's and the mains to larger sizes. I decided to leave the needles in the middle position for now. I started it up and she runs 100% better. I  took it to the track today along with my VW dragster. It was an all VW race so I was hoping to make a pass or two between rounds with the car. Ironically I won round, after round with the car and never had time to put the bike on the track. In fact I took the car into the final round, but a staging error caused some hesitation when my light came down and it resulted in a crappy reaction time. I wasn't able to catch my opponent down track so it took runner up. It was all good since we agreed to split the purse beforehand.  I was pleased with the car's performance all day. I did ride the bike around the return road. It seemed very responsive and lite the rear tire up with ease and no signs of breaking up. It's my opinion that this bike will be at least a tenth quicker than the F3 but that remains to be proven.  The weather is still okay for testing down this way. Hopefully I can catch a test and tune day somewhere and make a few A to B passes to see how it runs on the dragstrip.

I'm anxious to get this thing down the track. In the meantime,  I'm going to install the lockup clutch with stock static springs and soften up the spring on the rear shock so it will squat easier on launch. This will be a process in  tuning both the clutch, and shock to net the best 60' times.

He didn't ride the F3ceither. I wanted him to get seat time at a local track before coming to a big event. We'll do some test and tune sessions in the off season.

I was watching a show about sema and motorcycle racing, they kept going back and forth between the guys that went to SEMA and Ricky Gadson at Bradenton. They showed McBride's record run but in the background I saw you rolling the F in the staging lanes.  My wife was flipping through the channels, I'm not even sure what network it was on.

I think that was Rickeys show, Cafiene and Octane?? A friend said he saw it too but I believe it was at the XDA race up in Budds Creek Maryland.  Tut

Find a A short you tube video below  from some shop work last night. I was trying to get it ready to test today.

Took the bike out testing today at South Carolina Motorplex. Made a soft pass just to check the bike. Had shifting issues but it still had a 1.53 sixty foot time and ran 6.86@100mph. I was not lock throttle on that pass. Came back to the pit area to check the bike over and found i had no air left in the shifter after the pass. After going over the system from one end to the next, i found the electric over air solenoid was leaking from the exhaust port. I put a used one on but it leaked also. l decided not to fight this problem at the track and loaded up the bike and came home. Next week, i'll order another solenoid from Grainger. Hopefully there will be a decent day for testing again soon. The bike definitely has potential. That 6.86 in the 1/8th mile would have been an easy high ten second pass in the quarter mile.

No spray yet Jerry. It'll be a while before i juice it up. I want to be certain the engine is good to go first and make the best possible passes on all motor for my baseline. Plus i have not installed the lockup clutch yet.

Made a few passes on sunday. Had shifting issues on the 1st run so the ET wasn't the best but the bike did have a 1.40 sixty foot time. Next pass the bike shifted perfectly and ran a 6.39@103mph with a 1.41 sixty foot. Very encouraging results for only  the 3rd pass on the bike. Stay tuned for future testing.

Good question George.  I really don't want to speculate on a 9 second n/a pass right now. 10 teens is feasible so I'll hope for those numbers at this stage. Of course a high 9 second pass would be a bonus after all the planning and work that went into this build. We shall see what more seat time bring out of this back yard built package.

Time to do a little fine tuning to this thing. I want to take it out to a 1/4 mile dragstrip this weekend to see if i can get an official  10 second time slip so it needs to be running at 100%.  Hoping to lower my 60' times in the 1.30's also.

Ill post the ticket if i can make it to the track to get a few passes in.
