Topic: 550K3 Arrives - do I change my name?

Well, I'm now a 3 motorcycle family. The K3 arrived this afternoon and I must say it is absolutely stunning!

The seller restores E-Type Jags and did this as a sort of sideline (he bought a VTEC with the proceeds).  Registered in 1980, according to Bryan Jones' info it's a 1977 model.  It has been powder coated (even the brake arm!) with new spokes and rims and loads of history. 12500 miles from new.
Still got the user manual under the seat and the toolkit under the seat "hump".

So which one do I ride?  Obviously the 550 tomorrow - but I won't leave the 500 in the garage for too long.

Gorgeous!  Interesting the difference between your instrument/clutch/key group and my 1974.  My choke is on the side of the engine, key is on front of the engine.  Lovely pipes...care to sell them (hahahhah-Linda who thinks the only thing ugly about her bike is the "repaired" pipe on left top side)

That's about £1500, which is a good price.  I know that everything is cheaper in the US (especially bikes on eBay).

I paid £1750 for the K3 which included delivery (about £150), which is a lot for a 25 year old bike, but look at the condition...

I will be riding this bike - but not during the English (road salt) winter.

At some stage Honda completely redesigned the bike (not the engine).
My 500 has the key under the tank and the choke on the carbs. All later fours had the newer instrument pod.

Mine is just like the second photo.  And I meant the "choke" (not the clutch) being on the instrument panel.  Mine is a small lever about even with the carbs??

Nice Bike though!  I can't figure out the exchange rate on the money thingy...would I take the L amount and multiply it by 1.5 to get US dollars?

Very clean 550!  I likee.  I like the pipes on the later model 550s better than whats on mine but the color scheems kinda went down hill from 75 in my op.  Just not a big fan of...brown(76) or the red stripes vs. the gold and white 77+up.  I love the 74 paint colors/ scheems the best.
