Hi guys,
By any chance would anyone know the size of the decal and/or letters for the tank Seeley logo?

Thanks
Steve

I have a very good photo which I can scan and mail to you and it will allow you to reproduce the design and sizing with a fair bit of accuracy. I'm going to be travelling for the next few days so if you don't hear from me send me a reminder email.

regards
Thomas

PS or you can try these guys. http://www.vmccshop.net/c/12/transfers. They don't have any photos up on their website but I'm sure an email to them would elicit a reasonable response.

Hello Steve,

My bike has original Seeley artwork (hand painted)  I'll try to get a decent photo and add the measured dimensions.  There seems to be a few places in the UK selling vinyl decals at 150mm/6 inches (ish) wide, when I just did a quick measure mine are nearer 8 inches wide.

Cheers   Geoff

Thanks guys for your offers....
I have seen the 150 mm for sale as well as a 179 mm for sale and just not sure which is correct. I am planning on having the characters cut....so ideally I would need the length from the outside black border to opposite outer black border. Also a rough idea as to the the height of the large SEELEY characters.

On another note....I would like to thank Scottly for his rearset bracket drawings and his brake spring mod with a piece of brake line.....worked a treat. While I do not have the resources right now to try and make an identical copy...he put me in the ballpark enough to ride. I will fancy them up over the winter if I still have it.
I had to make the rearset brackets out of 3/8 6061 using my jig saw for cutting and a belt sander for shaping.

Here is a pic of where it stands today.
Thanks again everyone.

Steve

Thanks for the compliment Scottly.....jury is still out on the side covers....just not sure. Any feedback on them?
I am dealing with some leg/hip problems that they haven't identified yet.....growing old sucks, especially when it affects your passion. MRI soon.
I am also trying to figure out how to do the rear tail light thing on this without drilling the tail piece. It currently sits on rubber u-rail pads and a quick release velcro attachment on the rear. Trying to stay away from the side verical mount thingy.

Cheers

Not sure about the oil tank cover.. What does the other side look like? I would paint the shock springs the same color as the other painted parts.

Another carb clean and the engine seems to be running better.  However after a quick blast the end of left silencer has parted company with main body  :(  internal corrosion being the culprit I expect.

An unrealistic request but is there anybody who manufactures the Seeley style silencer ?  OR has anyone got a pair of Seeley silencers they would part with.  A repair to mine is I suspect feasible (right silencer also has corrosion issues) using braze/polish/re-chrome routine but will take time and I wanted to get some riding in before the British summer fizzles out.

Jag, I'm running Koni 7610-1343-SP1 shock on my Seeley. These were what Axl recommended to me years ago. They have a length of 349mm and seem to have been specced for the Kawa Z1-Z900-Z1000. The -SP1 suffix refers to the lighter spring rate recommended for the Seeley - it went by the Koni part number 235-18/25/33.

The stock Honda fitment wouldn't work on the Seeley because the Seeleys' lower mounting is more conventional - not the clevis pin arrangement used by Honda.

I got these a year or so before Koni bike shocks morphed to Ikon and I would hope they're still available from Ikon?

regards
Thomas

Hello,

Seeking any advice or recommendations for a replacement exhaust system for the Seeley Honda.  Mine is fitted with the Seeley 4-2 with the std Seeley silencers.  Unfortunately, as mentioned before, #672 has rotted out silencers so I need a replacement.  I have had a quote for £450 to reproduce the Seeley silencers in stainless steel, the headers would also need re-chroming so a tidy sum will have to be spent.  The alternative is to replace the entire system with an alternative so the question is there any systems out there that will fit without too much fuss.

Any ideas or information gratefully received.

Cheers   Geoff

I really like the look of the new cyclex exhaust, 4 into 4.

I have perused the Cycle-X site and they appear to make some very nice CB750 products.  My dilemma is how would their systems fit to a Seeley frame?  The 4-4 system shown above looks great but I would hate to have to do major modifications to get it to fit.

I have installed an old school 4 into 1 on my bike. There are no issues as they are supported at the front by the head spigots and at the rear by the rear foot peg holes. There are no frame clearance issues on mine. See what Scottly and others are running.
The only issue with the cyclex ones is that I do not see a rear attachment and one would have to be McGivered.

Thanks for the feedback chaps.

I am going to assume that I can probably fit most generic CB750 4-1 systems without too much fuss (bound to be some  ;D ).
