Thanks looks simple enough, I put your Pic in my Seeley file. Just picked up these Cambray CB750 wheels from a member here, They came off a Seeley in England

Hello all,

A couple fellow Seeley Honda 750 owners would like to procure a set of replica Seeley silencers the same as the ones I had made for my
machine.  As the silencers are made in the UK and the guys live in Aus and Hong Kong respectively I am trying to determine what
headers are used so that they stand a reasonable chance of a first time fit.  I assume std. Honda 4-4 headers will be the ones to look for,
but any specific model information would be useful.

I’ve just heard about a local Seeley CB750. It’s currently set up as a Vintage Racer and may come available. Years ago I missed a Rickman and am intrigued by this opportunity. Currently working on arranging a visit. I’d treat this is a “kit” and convert one of my cb750Ks over to a Seeley. Curious what Seeley experts consider a fair price for a “race bike”. Hasn’t run for a few years. Now idea on condition, will post pictures when I can....... Thanks!

Kind of hard to guess about a "fair price" with so little information. ;) If it helps, I paid $1900 for my bike, running, with Morris wheels, 836 kit, Weber carbs, Gerex ignition, Grimeca rear disc brake, dual front disc Circle Industries rotors etc. Of course, that was 40 years ago. ;D
First, what is the number on the steering head?

One was recently listed on UK eBay. It also had an 836 kit and Weber carbs.  It failed to meet it's £9000 GBP reserve (twice, as it was re-listed).

As unique and rare as bikes like the Seeley Honda 750 are the buyers who might desire them are a diminishing community (i.e. We're getting old  ;D).  Subsequently the prices will reflect this as there is not a large base of potential buyers.  When it comes to the value of your example I can not give any accurate advice.  Good luck with the sale.

“Scotty” and Geoff....... thanks for your input. I have no idea on the frame number or condition. I have not seen the bike, the circumstances around the potential sale are a bit grey. The usual story, another guy getting older, who may be selling off a few bikes! I’m trying to arrange a visit and will get more info. I have a nicely running K4 that has never been apart. It has a nice set of Lester’s, and a few other nice bits. Thinking it might be the “donor bike” to put a Seeley kit back on the road. I also just picked up a complete ‘75 GL1000 front end, so the “the wheels are turning”........ great Winter Project?

Yes, definitely a tasty winter project.  If you are starting from a bare chassis kit (as it sounds you might) why not consider dropping a more modern engine in such as a 1200 Bandit lump.  No heavier than a CB750 and 100 bhp (ish) as standard.  Sorry, I just love building specials and it takes a bunch of effort to get the CB engine to 100 bhp  ;D

Geoff...... interesting idea, but I really am into cb750Ks! My son and I are only missing a K2, to complete our SOHC set. The K3 pictured above is his regular ride, and although we’ve worked both ends, the engine has never been out and the frame is original paint..... I was going to tear it down this winter, but if I can get that Seeley race bike, might just stir the two together. Because the K3 is already plated and insured, could be a pretty seamless upgrade!

Nice collection of Honda's 8).  I am with you on your plans for the Seeley, I have one of the factory built show bikes.  The idea of an alternative power plant to the CB750 arose when Jaguar was selling his Seeley project.  He made me a pretty darn good offer for the whole lot but getting it shipped to the UK was a bit out of my comfort zone.  A 100 bhp Seeley is a mouth watering prospect though, maybe with the later DOHC Honda engine ;D

Geoff, the #503 bike used to be owned by member Swoop in Canada. Sort of ironic that it was imported back into England..
I once considered swapping in a DOHC 750 motor about 20 years ago. I was given one that ran, and compared the motor mounts, and they appeared to be the same. There was also clearance between the rear cam cover and the frame above, although not a lot, IIRC. I gave up on the idea after considering the cost to build the DOHC motor to an output greater than my SOHC motor, which was, and still is, functioning well. ;D

Hi Scottly,

That is why the prospect of fitting a 16v Bandit (or GSXR1100) was attractive.  100 bhp as std. and with a free flowing end can and inlet filter (+ a bit of jetting) 120+ bhp was easy to achieve at minimum effort.  My Seeley has a bog std. CB750 F1 engine, would benefit from a top end refresh, so probably only making 55 RWHP.  I think that raising a CB engine to similar 100 bhp outputs would probably be quite expensive.

My tipp for seeley gas tank holder straps are rubber seals for  plastic plumbing pipes.
You can buy them loose in diy-stores.
I've been using them for years, cheap and work fine.
