1980 CB750 master cylinder question

Hi, I am a single cam guy but am going through a friends 80 CB750C. The master Cylinder is leaking under the clear part of the reservoir. The parts finch shows an o-ring on the clear part sealing it to the metal base. I can not pull the clear part off. It will spin around easy but even light prying will not remove it. Double cam experts please help. Dan

Well, I've got an 80' CB750K but, by the time I got it, it had a master cylinder off an older
SOHC model. So, I'm sorry to say that I can't be much help to you. LOL though.
Later on, Bill

There is probably corrosion abouve the 'o' ring. you will have to pry/twist/pry/lever/force/pry to get it apart. If its rotating you have all the screws out and its only the'o'ring holding things together. I dont know of any easy way to get it apart. I think K&L Supply company list a new resevoir if you break it as it was fited to just about every Honda from 1979~81. I just looked it up, page 291 2006 catalogue part # 32-8043 fits CM 400 through to gold Wing. It isnt the angled type fited to CB650 but would work( maybe the alloy bzse was angled?, I forget)

Thanks Crazy, You were correct. The good news is I was able to get it off without breaking it.
