Did you grab that one, too? A friend sent me the CL link and luckily I was working. I REALLY don't need another project right now.....

Ha, its 5 mins from my house. Scooping it up in the morning.  I don't know what I am gonna do with it either but 5 mins away sealed the deal for me. Somebody has to take these orphans in ....guy said he had a ton of other Jap scrap he would include as well. Last time I heard that I ended up with an extremely rare Tracy fiberglass cafe tank and very nice extra ported topend.
Ended up passing that tank on for 500$ and I only spent 200$ on the bike so I was +300$ for just scoping it out with a free bike to boot. I like to think of myself as an Indian Jones type artifact hunting vintage treasures . It's a hoot.

My 550 has shocks looking like that too but 2 colors.  I like how the bike rides.  My other 550 has progressive and I think they're too bumpy

Could not tell you gave up on cornering hard decades ago.. My buddy that would always outcorner me had S+We on his bikes.
There is folks on here can tell you everything you need to make your bike handle ( he'll they even make sure to tell those who don't use it).. But I am not the one to ask. .. But many shocks are better than stock.

I have a pair that look similar.  I'd say they are definately better than stock.  Fairly stiffly sprung, rebound damping is pretty solid, better than worn out stockers damping, but still not the best.  No real adjustability as there is only the usual spring pre-load adjustment.  I had them on a cb750f3.
If it works good, it looks good...
