The big stormy week here in Seattle
« on: December 08, 2014, 05:39:28 PM »
Reading the weather report (only slightly reliable), they're predicting possibly 10 to 15" of rain in the mountains over the next two to three days, maybe more.  First time I read that I thought, naw, it's 1.0 to 1.5".  Nope, 10 to 15".

Even for Seattle that's insane.  Of course that's the mountains that will get that, the city will only get about 2 inches or so over the next few days - but all that rain is going to make it's way down here via the rivers.

Batten down the hatches Noah.

Now, given that this is the forecast, tomorrow I'll probably wake up to sunny skies and 60 F ::)

Yikes!

I remember the camping trip to the Olympic Peninsula. Planned so far in advance it was hardcore or nothing at all. Of course when the date came, we were lucky enough that they had cleared the road of all the tree trunks laying across the road as thick as I was tall. Lots of split up wood laying around it too that was took a trunkful to use for heat.

I guess we left it for next year after wasting everything we had trying to get it to burn.

Now we're getting the storm.

This will likely be my last post of the day - big gusts (50 to 60 mph) are starting to knock branches down and the lights are flickering...

No hunkering down for a storm  here, it's perfectly calm today  and mid 50's for the whole next week.

I figured out my lost key must have been left in the seat lock last night, so if it is I'm on the road instead of this fcukink keyboard.
