Kev: here's what I can see in your fabulous find! What a treasure!
...........................................................
6. The K1 had a history of over-charging the battery on hiway jaunts until the voltage regulator was either adjusted 'down' a little bit or replaced with the newer style unit that did not "toggle" as much. This caused the battery to d, it wiped out the white lens on the taillight and caused loss of chrome in the middle of the rear fender.

I'm just full of nostalgia on the old K1 !
:D

Dude you are just full of it, hahhaha  ;D lol,
thanks, Mark

Well gentleman I can stop wondering what a brand new honda cb750 sounds like.  She runs and runs good very quiet almost like a modern bike, I am use to hearing the loud typewriter sound of the 750's valve train.  It took a lot longer to get this bike to kick over than the others I have brought back(my poor knee), I think I was trying to choke it too much.  Once it started I cut the choke and it held a perfect idle very smooth.  The neutral light doesn't work but all the other electric is good.  I wonder how many years its been since she ran last.  When I checked the valves the inside of the motor looked real clean which makes me feel better about the mileage being right also the amount of compression it had trying to kick it was impressive.

Don't post your address, someone here might snag it. I guess if one of us stole it couldn't show it off here, we would have to brag on one of those other forums.

I am really digging the blue tank do you have sides to match?  If may you can snap a pic.  Looks and sounds great.  I am not sure I could resist putting a bunch of miles on her though.  What are your plans for her?

Yes I have the side covers to match the blue.  I know I am very tempted to put mile on her but I almost don't have the heart to do it..  I might put it up on ebay with a high reserve

They firing pulses at idle are perfect, no misfires at all. Doesn't get much better than that.
Wish I could find the Holy Grail like that with my bike. You hit it big with that one sir.

No that is my other bike it is a K0.  Thanks for all the comments...  The bike runs real good but seems to draw a lot of power when I try to start it with the starter.  I thought it may have been a week battery but I put it back in my other bike and it turned that one over fine.  I cleaned the wires off going to the battery and the nuts on the solenoid.  Not really sure what else to check you would think a bike with low mileage would turn over real easy with minimal draw from the battery.  any suggestions would be appreciated.

The ground on the frame. Clean all the grounds. If it has been sitting that long it make take a while to loosen up.   You might want to change to a lighter wt oil and run it for a while to break it back into the running life

Thanks Vinhead1957.  I was thinking that things might be a little frozen for all the years of sitting.  I usually run 15/40 in my 750's with this one I used 10/30.

I would think All the electrical connections need cleaned/shined-up after 40+ years of waiting.

Whats the best way to clean them?

You'll need to gain access to all of them and disconnect the wires from hand switches, connectors, coils, etc. and clean them all til both mating surfaces are shinier rather than dull;clean all the wiring harness ground connections that contact the bare frame.
I've also found a great product for cleaning electrical contacts/connections especially the ones(solenoids, etc.)that are sealed and are a pain to take apart.
The product is Deoxit and it works.  :)
