At least kev shared it with us here and posted pics.   I know I have done similar, but on a much lesser scale.  But I usually can't resist enjoying them for a few hundred miles....that's the thing, they are only low mileage once :-\  If I were to keep that bike, the low mileage that makes it special would be gone in 1 or 2 seasons.
If it works good, it looks good...

I think I just made a great purchase.  I am going to need some help affirming the low miles are correct from some of you 750 guru's.  Okay here is what I bought a 9/70 candy gold K1 750 with 676 miles.  A.....

...  Is the bike really a 700 mile surviver? Maybe although there .....

At least you declare it in ebay

"I purchased the bike a few weeks ago ........"

buying - cleaning - selling....

Here we call tha commercial trading.

Here, we call that Flipping.  I would have at least cleaned the surface rust off the exhaust.
Back in 2011 my son was told about a old Honda sitting in a friend of his bosses garage. That old Honda turn out to be a candy blue green 4/70 build date CB750KO. Of course I bought it and I could of easily flipped it with in a few days and made a very nice profit but that never entered my mind. Coming up on 2015 its still in my garage and Im still enjoy riding it and it gets attention where ever I go. Not putting Kev or any other member down for flipping bikes its just something I'm not into.

Looks like Kev's bike is at $6200 with 4 days to go.

Let me get in Kevin's head for a minute. He loves cb750s. He has several. Even a KO built for the Japanese market. He sees on CL a bike that is almost too good to be true. A beautiful k1 with less than 700mls on it. Without hesitation he's on the phone and out the door drives 2 1/2 - 3 hrs and beats all of us the this bike. I can't imagine the excitement on the way there then on the way home. First thing he does when he gets home is share it here with us here. Most guys here are thrilled for him and share yelling him how much it would go for in their market. Then he comes to a realization. He personally can't put miles on it because it would ruin what is so special about it. Now it's something that he as a young family man just spent $6000 on and is not going to use. So he puts it on eBay for the world to see and bid on. Now some are giving him a hard time!?!? I know for a fact he didn't go thru all this to make a profit ,even sharing  he probably paid too much. And even if he did so what!! He paid what the seller wanted! The seller was happy with the deal as was he. Now if a buyer is willing to pay what he wants for it they'll both be happy again. What's the problem besides some weak people who are jealous and green with envy. It blows my mind how grown people can act. Yes I consider Kevin a friend. Know how we met? I sold him cb750 parts on three ovations. And guess what I made a profit every time!! I don't think he hold it against me. My two closest friends in the world Are members here. How did I meet them? I sold them bikes and made a profit both times. I can tell they don't hold that against me either!! Is it all bout profit ? Absolutely not!! But there's nothing wrong with making a honest dollar!

Thank you for the nice comment Tim!  That is truly why I decided to put on eBay.  I just didn't think I would have to go through all this explaining on this forum,  sorry for the disappointment fellas!!!

I don't think there is any reason to point the flamethrowers either.  Seems a large percentage of the people on here are buying and selling. Whatever Kevin's motivations are he made the effort and stepped up to the plate in a big way to buy that at $6,000 which I feel was a good deal for the seller and him both. Not like he stole it from a widow for nothing.  How many of you realistically would pony up that kind of cash, its a risky and gutsy move and if he is rewarded for it so much the better. Be happy that now you have the chance to now own it also if you want to step up to the plate instead of it being hidden away forever.
Its inspiring to see that examples like this are out there still lingering around so I say Thanks for sharing.

What's the problem besides some weak people who are jealous and green with envy.

That's it in a nutshell.  With 4 days left it is at only $200 over what he gave for it.  I hope he makes back his expenses, not to mention the time he has in it.

He will do fine, its the natural progression of an E-bay auction. There is a quick burst and a long lull. Towards the end the serious players will come out to play and the last hour or very much less could get real interesting.

I'll be putting my '75 750F up for sale for $150,000 before too long.  Probably will have all kinds of people mad at me for profiteering since I only gave $1400 for it back in 1977. ;)

Yep, bitcoins are indeed still around.  One bitcoin is worth about $320 these days.

Well, perhaps the problem these "week and jealous" people have is that they admire those who restore, fix and rebuild vintage bikes instead of flipping them, making money without creating anything else.
What if Hondaman would say "to hell with fixing these bikes and trying to make parts for them, i can just flip them" ?
If 754 said " screw machining parts, there is there is easier way to make $"?
No, I don't feel any obligation to pat flippers on the shoulder for doing good job, sorry.

Yeah, weak and jealous is a little strong and I should have used my own words instead of tagging onto the other post.  But there is a difference between "an obligation to pat flippers on the shoulder" and making derogatory inferences about someone making some money if they see an opportunity.  There is nothing wrong with using your time and energy to get ahead, keeping your eyes open and acting when an opportunity comes up.  (as long as it is legal.) ;)

You don't think it's possible this bike will, in fact, end up with one of these people who restore, fix and rebuild vintage bikes?

Kev may be flipping this bike but he clearly has other cb750's in amazing condition that he holds close to him.

I am a 550 guy but if i see a deal on a cb750 on craigslist that i feel i can make some money on, ill buy it fix it up and sell for profit without thinking twice about it. I have about 11-12 bikes. there are 2-3 of them that mean a lot to me that I won't part with. the others are welcome to the highest bidder.

In the end, the more these bikes are bought and sold, the more their values will increase. In the end, we all win.

Not forbidden to make business and profit. And some guys want to make a dollar wherever possible.

Buying a bike in order to re-sell it as fast as possible is, in my eyes, commercial trading and should be stated as that.

Instaed of "Hey look what I found...."

BTW: is it taxable?

There might be something wrong with me, really: I yearn to bring in a 'wounded' 750, pet it, love it back together, maybe ride it a little, then find a home for it where I know it will be well-fed, like my wife does with little dogs.

But, boy...it sure is hard to let them go! Although, if they stayed here, they would rust, as I mostly ride my old friend almost exclusively. Maybe they are my 'kids'?
