750 carb o-ring size
« on: December 11, 2014, 12:32:05 PM »
I need to replace all 4 of my carb float bowl drain 'bolt' o-rings; two of them have split which could to a real mess.  I don't need to buy an entire carb rebuilt kit so I'm looking for the dimensions of the stock o-ring to see if I can find replacements.

Buna or viton. both have good chem resistance, or you can take the screw and a bowl to your local auto store.  they typically have a large case of metric and SAE o-rings behind the counter, and can pull a few out to get a set that works.

Get BOTH the metric and SAE sets. They are both worth much more than their weight in gold.  ;)
Just the gasoline and one minute of your time to go to a store to hunt for one little part, costs more than both sets.

Is there anything more fun than riding? They are between your legs and are quiet when you turn them off.

Since these o-rings contact gasoline, or what is now served up as such, it is better to get them in Viton.  The ethanol just eats up old rubber bits such as o-rings and especially fuel line.

And you can get them here: http://www.mcmaster.com/#o-rings/=uzzvhr.  Not sure that I need 25 of the same size, though!
