1976 CB750 Overcharges
« on: December 12, 2014, 10:20:50 AM »
Hello,
I checked charging voltage on my K6 and the voltage at the battery at 5K rpm is 15.1v. 14.5v should be max, can the regulators be adjusted, or would an electronic reg/rectifier be a better choice. Around town driving wouldnt be a problem, 3-4k rpms are about 14v, but extended hwy it would overcharge battery boil out the water.
Suggestions.
thanks, Mark

check the voltage difference between the regulator black wire and the battery positive,if the black is lower by much the reg will think the battery is down and up the voltage overcharging it,they should be pretty much the same with the black slightly less through connections, make sure the connections are clean right through the loom.
