torque specs on a 1980 CB650C
« on: December 11, 2014, 12:23:14 PM »
Does anyone know the torque spec on the (2) bolts that fasten the primary spocket
to the engine on a 1980 CB650C?  I have a service manual, but am unable to find it. It gives common torques for different size bolts, but these seem kind of important so they don't come loose while riding.

I could never find sprocket torque values for my '82, either.  I replaced mine, and I picked something in the low 20s, like 23 (ft #) based on the feel, and keeping in mind that it's a bolt with no nut, and that all the torque would end up right on the head of the bolt without a nut to absorb some.  In fact, one of the original ones may have broken when I removed it; I seem to remember that.

Yes, I read somewhere that you should use blue locktight too. Thanks for your feedback.
