at 7:00 am I'm getting my right leg amputated and I'm worried out of my mind. this is going to be hard so I'll be on here alot reading everyone post I will try and help if I just start talking &^%$TGJ dont listen to me it's just the pain med talking see you guy's in a week or so James

Bloody 'eck, just goes to show we've all got our stories to tell. It's easy to get trapped in your own little bubble at times, does good to be reminded that you're reality isn't the same as everyone elses and there are other folk who are having a shyte time too. You can rely on this lot for support mate, that's for sure so do come back when you can. Best of luck for the operation.

Going to be a rough few weeks ahead, I am guessing. You are in constant pain.
 I came close to losing mine, back in 82..managed to keep it so far. However I have recurring problems with it. At this point, I am not sure what I am facing up ahead?
 All I can offer you right now,  is hold your head up, and get through it..
 You are not going to let it get the better of you.......I wish you the best,  it will work out...... Frank..

I find some doctors they do like to whittle on you.  I'm sure you are well informed as to why you want to have someone do this, risks involved and of course you were clear headed about needing it, perhaps based on wheere you were clearly headed.

I have some  reason to believe that you might be diabetic.

Now all we have to do is figure out a new rear brake setup for you!

there are elektric start..and the gear /brake can be moved..so no problen driving on..next summer .

..so keep happy..and hold on on this forum..kontakt to other is importment...i have been down vith some hard discos colaps ..  but vrenching on old bikes hold me happy and going on..if you not can drive for some time...start a build procjekt..and take the small parts at start..then later vhen got the new leg. and learn to use it.it can be the bigger parts to work on ..but luck to you..in few auers it over..and the new start begins...

I'm always amazed at how strong people are in the face of adversity. We're a resilient lot and we learn to live through thick and thin. I'm sorry to hear that lifes path has taken you down this road. I'm sure this procedure is required and brings an improved quality of life, so embrace it and make the nessesary adaptations to continue to enjoy what you love.

I used to mountain bike with an enspiring fella that had a prosthetic right arm. From him I learned that life is enriching and rewarding to those who embrace it. Ride on James!

There are actually a few amputees I've read about doing crazily amazing things on two-wheeled motorcycles with a couple mods and prosthetics. Like taking a year off of everything and literally riding around The World. Or a kid with no fingers winning in motocross. After you heal, motorcycling will still be there for you, man! And so will this forum for that matter.
