550 Oil Pass Plug and Cap Questions
« on: December 19, 2014, 07:40:22 AM »
Hello all,

Have two questions I am hoping I can get some help on.

1. To remove the Oil Pass Plug, I am assuming one simply grabs with a pair of needle nose pliers and pulls? This I tried and it started to get marred.

2. Where can I get the plug and caps? So far the only place I can find the plug is cmsnl but their shipping on small items is stupid. Cannot locate the caps. Mine are in decent shape but a little bit marred from being taken off.

- Plug I am referencing is 11207-323-000 or number 4 on the crankcase diagram.
- Caps are 15332-300-000 or number 10 on the crankcase diagram.

They are N/A from Honda so the only option is CMSNL or David Silver Spares or used on E-bay...or someone here.

If the piece is marred a little, no problem , it's the o-ring doing the sealing anyway. Re-use the plug & caps but install new o-rings. Use a 6 sided socket on the caps and a small vise grip on the tang of the plug.

The machined end of the oil passage can be slightly sharp & damage o-rings on reassembly, make sure to oil or lightly grease both when and be "ginger" when you reinstall the plug.

Thanks bwaller. Had a feeling that was all the case... Just wanted to be sure and make I wasn't in left field.
