Maybe something like, "I've made it thru, feel like crap, doped up (thankfully) and looking forward to getting the hell outta hospital!"

At least that's what we are all hoping for on your end! Get home soon-

I met a bike guy at a bar/restaurant we talked bikes for a while. He has a few for sale so he can finance his two favorite bikes restorations, he told me he's fixing the one he lost his leg on, showed me his metal leg, introduced me to his girlfriend and a short time later he was dancing. A wreck didn't keep him down. I'm planning to buy at least one from his collection.

Quite common in our area to see a guy in shorts and on a metal leg, but you could not tell by the way they walk.

I've got a very dear friend who lost a leg in Afghanistan. You'd never know it by his demeanor or his activity. I once asked him did he find it difficult to walk with a prosthetic. He replied, "The ability to walk, run or live my life is not restricted by my leg, but determined by what's in my heart."

I'll never forget that advice and it has caused me great respect to see how many people live this way. Delighted you're home, and anxious to see where you go from here.

Hope you and your loved ones enjoy a Merry Christmas together!

Ouch!

Springer, I've been around the short track at Delta a time or two, is it still there?

The guy that taught me to ride is slowed, just a bit, by polio. He wears a brace on his right leg and basically, just drags it along. That didn't stop him from riding though. He raced at Ascot Park short track in the early 60's. I'm glad I met him.

Another pal lost his leg in a hi-lo accident. When we go fishing, he puts his waders on and gets out in the river just a bit upstream from me.
