CB750 SKF 6304 2RS Made in India??!!
« on: December 26, 2014, 03:29:21 PM »
Ciao All,

I ordered a 6304 SKF bearing via eBay...  To my surprise this one stated made in India...

Is this still a high quality bearing or are the SKF made in India ones, known for lesser quality....  Should I be concerned??

Many Thanks
Cheers
Carlito

I've heard SKF has their factories there, can't be any worse than the made in Argentina ones I got through my local authorized SKF distributor.

I recently purchased genuine Honda CB750 steering bearing set. The balls were manufactured in India, not sure about the races? I've installed them & they work just fine. I suppose I will find out over time if the quality is still there.

India is now doing to China what China did to North America. Labour is dirt cheap and environmental protection is non existant so the multi nationals are moving their production there. Next stop Bangladesh, if any of it is still above water 10 years from now.

The only "Made in Japan" bearings I have come across lately are Nachi Quest.  All of the SKF, NTN, Timken, etc. bearings that used to be made in Japan or the United States are now all labeled India, Mexico, or China.

I have used Japanese made Nachi Quest for wheel bearings in my CB550F and Buell and am very happy with the quality.
