how to install honda cb400f rear brake spring

Something so simple I can't figure it out.  Does the spring mount inside the frame or outside?

Inside with the larger 'hook' end captured by the frame tube. With it in place it wraps on the tubes backside

Round top carbs w/ 38 pilots, middle needle position, airscrew 7/8ths out, 122 main jet
Stock airbox w/ drop in K&N, Hooker 4-1

Got her done - thanks.  Once I put it on the inside of the frame all was well.
