  • I REALLY? hate black rims.
As there was only one bike nominated for January, I'm sure he wouldn't want to win by being the only nominee.
That person was SohRon with his lovely 550 which was nominated by Cal and seconded by DH.
SohRon accepted so I've brought it forward to start this year off.
I hope you will forgive me but the job of running this is getting a bit to much for me and with that, tender my resignation. Hopefully Justin will step into the breach until a replacement for myself can be chosen.

Sam. :)

SohRon's nominated 550.

No one WANTS to go up against SohRon, but nominating a bike is recognition of its fine work.

Accordingly, I nominate Chef Justin's Black Ops Super Secret DARPA CL350 Scrambler built for his female partner in crime.  There is no build thread for this bike or details, I presume since Chef was building this bike as a surprise holiday gift.  Hopefully, Justin can crank out an ex post facto build thread to give us some details.

I have shamelessly posted pictures of the bike with Chef's fine female friend since the bike is going head to head with SohRon!   ;D

Can I get a second?  (Amen!)

Chef,

Since we are now into January, and SohRon was unopposed for the January BOTM, doesn't that make him the winner?  Also, are we starting a February BOTM nomination thread?

Don, I nominate you for the 2015 BOTM and BOTY Chairman to fill Sam's shoes.  I think you would do a great job.  Just get Sam a gold watch for his retirement.

Perhaps as a final, official act prior to his temp hiatus, Sam would fashion a poll so we can formally vote Don in as Pro-Tem Chariman of the BOTM thread?

Man, I skip out on the BOTM thread for a day and "whammo"!

I will be happy to sub in for Sam (he's done such a great job, and helped out so many folks).

Does someone "official" need to say yes or no?

Hey all, sorry I have pretty much been away for months now. Very busy with that cl350 I was building. I picked it up at Barber running with a title for $500, and although I rode my bike to Barber I couldn't pass it up. Was very blessed to find someone to trailer it back to savannah for me. since mid october my buddy (her brother) and I have been tirelessly working to strip down and completely refinish the bike. Yes it has been all secret but mostly I just haven't had time to post any updates or pictures. We did a video diary of it for every day that we worked on it, a total of 18 working days. I had a little bit more tedious work into it like all the sanding, prepping, painting and wiring but we compiled a "making of" video for her and surprised her with that after we unveiled the bike on christmas eve. it was a blast doing the project and she is overjoyed to say the least. I got to do a couple days of training with her, using the same fundamentals that I was taught at my new riders course I took two years ago. she has a scheduled course up in atlanta where she lives at the end of january/beginning of february so we are excited about that. She picked it up very quickly and I can't wait for her to be riding it around making everyone envy. I am very proud of the bike ;)

regarding BOTM, I talked with Don, and have sent an email to Bob Wessner requesting his status be updated to forum moderator for the BOTM side. I am sorry to hear about Sam's condition worsening, and want to thank him for all of the hard work he has done to make BOTM possible. I am in full support of having Don pick up the reigns, as I am still swamped with a cb450, dohc 750, nx650, and going to pick up another 78 750 as well. I just don't have much time to get on here anymore between work, bikes, music, and general life.

Hi Chef,

We are looking forward to seeing some build strings when you get to it.  Maybe you can upload your build log/diary for the CL350.  It is a beautiful bike, and to no surprise you GF agrees!

I just received emails from Bob Wessner and Glenn Stauffer, adding me to the list of moderators.  Problem solved!!

Thanks, Scottly.  I'll try to hold down the fort until Sam is back in action.

I once received a "temporary promotion" at work. 9 years later I had to sell the company to "step down" from my promotion.  :o

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of it's victim may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated, but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S. Sam is definitely missed -- but we're keeping the light on for him when he's ready to get back in.  It looks like Chef Justin has been VERY busy cooking awesome looking food as well as starting a "garage" of sorts building old Hondas.  Kudos, Chef.
