Ok.
Bike is a stock CB550F SS from 1976.  Not currently running.
It is winter and I was tinkering and decided to check the bulbs out to make sure I had no bad ones.

Noticed that the front directionals have two conductor sockets and the rear have just one wire.
Was wondering why that is.....

Thanks
Tim

P.S.  I have missing carbs.  I know that there are different carb bodies (or sets).   What should be stamped on a correct set for my bike (I have a set stamped 69A that look right, but they came from my dad's estate and he had a CB550K and a CB500

Thanks

Not familiar with your model but two of my bikes, the 1975 and the 2002 have running lights in the front turn signal but not in the back. So....seems it's a safety feature maybe?

That seems a logical answer....Thanks!

Carbs for some of the 550s:

75-77 CB550F -- 069A
76 CB550K -- 087A
74-75 CB550K -- 022A

So if you're sure yours is a 76 F model then the 069A's are the right carbs for your bike

All 550's  in the US used the front turn signals as running lights as well.

Front signals are used as running lights on US bikes, front only.

As for carbs, use the search button and search keihin I.d. chart. I would link for you but I'm on my phone

All of the lenses are amber. Most places require rear running lights to be red, so only the front facing amber lenses can be legally used as running lights in most places (here in the states anyway). I've got some red lenses for mine and plan to convert my rear (amber) turn only lights to dual filament running lights/turn signals (red) as well.
