Not sure if you are still looking at going back through PA, but Rt. 6 is a good one along the northern part of PA.  Rt. 31 is also a great road through the mountains if you were going through PA more south.

Looks like a great trip.  Some quick tips.

I see you have Baxter State Park as a destination in Maine.  Check the regulations, but motorcycles are prohibited within the park.  The rules say 'prohibited on unpaved roads' - the paved roads end at the park entrance.

A favorite place of mine for lobster in Maine is the Harraseeket Lunch & Lobster in South Freeport.

Last time I was up in the Adirondacks, we crossed into Vermont on the Ferry between Fort Kent and Burlington.  If you like history, I recommend both the Adirondack Museum in Blue Mountain Lake, NY and the Shelburne Museum near Burlington, VT.

If you do come back through southern PA, there is a really nice B&B in Confluence, PA - the Hanna House.  Very close to Fallingwater and the Flight 93 National Memorial.

Thanks for pointing that out Glenn.  I hadn't thought about the different park regulations.

yes, do stop in my home town to see the Hall of Fame, though it is so huge, it's an all day event, then you can swing up to Cleveland and go to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Yes, Ohio does have a lot to offer!

Kind of like Don said...  Your route is a little too far north but the 9-11 Memorial is in Shanksville, PA.  Right off the Lincoln Highway actually...

Yes,old routes and 2-lane are excellent w/ rte.30 Lincoln hwy.,it goes a Loonng way from E.-W.

Ooooooh! That Guzzi California sure tweaks my nipples, Joe. ;) If you end up with that, a full ride report would be in order! I've heard it can be hard to get some of these Honda dealers to unleash the beast and allow test rides. How the hell do they expect to sell these damn things!?

Hey Jay...yeah...that Guzzi is the first cruiser styled bike which has ever made any part of me tingle.  I still like the Honda a lot, but I'm thinking the Guzzi in the garage could even out the collection a bit :)

The Guzzi guy even told me that he'd come on the test ride with his own bike and take me through some twisties in his area to get a feel for it.

You ready to sell that red CB750 of yours to me? ;)   I'm going to be lacking on Honda's come spring
