Free Bird: Unfinished Cafe
« on: January 03, 2015, 12:28:59 PM »
Free Bird as in Lynard Skynard. That's what I'd named my road racer many years ago. Not a common thing, road racers normally don't get names, drag racers do.

Theme will be , unfinished as in unfinished furniture. No paint, chrome, polish, just parts.

And the parts will be recycled as much as possible. My old Yoshimura 2 ring slippers, 1mm over. And the recent purchase from Bill Benton: a set of slightly used RC "big bolt" rods.

Film at 11:00.

Hopefully this build won't take as long. And it won't begin in earnest for a while. I've got a rolling chassis (1975F), but it will need going through.

But then on the other hand, shop time is to me what riding time used to be, so who cares?   ;D

Looking forward to seeing this one.  LOL, I admit to pulling up your profile to see if you were from Alabama (as in Sweet Home Alabama).  ::)

Their high school gym teacher. I got to see the original band twice before the plane crash. Nothing like it on the whole planet. Some bands tried but there just ain't no substitute.
I'm interested to see what Ron can do on this bike. I'm betting that as he goes along.....the urge will be too strong to get totally anal with the process (not a bad thing!). I enjoy wrenching as much as riding....just don't have the required funds so things take me longer than they should to finish.

Their high school gym teacher.

Bingo, Leonard Skinner.  He told them to cut their long hair and they'd never amount to anything!

Thread jack over.

Other parts to be retasked: CL450 tank, RB Racing one off "Bol'dor" replica pipe, maybe a seat pan.

There won't be weekly updates like with Phaedrus. This may be the last post for a whle. I'm just so plussed to score the "big bolt" rods that I had to say something.   :D

It only took 10 years, and 100+ pages for Phaedrus (and still counting ;) ;D).  So patience is part of the make-up for those of us following along.
