deal of the year!
« on: January 04, 2015, 11:05:12 AM »
and it's only the 4th of january...

Went on a trip to holland today to pick-up a bike, 2 frames and a huge pile of parts, all this for just 360$!
couldn't let that deal slip away...

the bike is K8 I presume?

the massive pile of parts...
ugly wheels...

8 of these, are these special?

new original H4 light, for a DOHC I think?

F2 and F1 frame?

the engines:

F2 (case is split, no cilinder or cilinder head)

1 complete engine

1 that is pretty fare gone...

and the last one

would be a huge help if you guys could point out certain engines or parts what they are exactly.

Also, al 3 frames came with a title, just have to declare them in holland and then they will be coming my way.

cheers and thanks in advance!

Good deal for sure, the finned valve caps were pretty common back in the day.   The Brough is Superior!  Two hundred thousand US dollars?  Thanks for posting the photo...Larry

The only K7/K8 part I see on the bike is the gas tank. The oil tank is the early style, as well as the finned front brake caliper and short fork lowers.
Don't fix it if it ain't broke!

it is actually, one sold for over 315000 pounds... but it was an older one.

well the seat. Don't know what it is really, no branding anywhere but does fit the original hinge and seat lock...

The only K7/K8 part I see on the bike is the gas tank. The oil tank is the early style, as well as the finned front brake caliper and short fork lowers.

well now you say that, it does make sense... Will check frame and engine number again.

69-72 use the unicorn style top tree, and the guages are held on with a chrome band.
72 has steel guages no indicator lights inside, come fork ears with NO hole for reflectors..one year part.
Did you get any gold headlight ears, or sidecovers with good paint.?

I thought that kind of deals only were available in the grand USA where a lot of barns seems to hide nice old CB750's. How many sandcasts are still  to discover?

In picture #12, the red tank with the black fuel filler door is an F tank and probably goes with that red frame.

The top wheel from that stack of silver Comstar wheels is not an SOHC4 wheel. That style wheel was used on the 77 and 78 750F, but with a disk brake in the back, and that one is a drum. That wheel is likely from a DOHC 750.

The brake plate is the same as the 650, So very possibly a CB650Z wheel.

I've never seen an SOHC/4 650 in the US with that particular wheel, only the reverse Comstar style (black wheel with polished edges).

*edit* however, over at the "Let's See you SOHC/4 on the Road" thread, Sunny posted some pics today of his cafe, which is a 550 or 650, I can't quite tell, with those very wheels, including drum brake rear.

The 650Z was never available in the US. Mostly Europe\UK\Oz. Almost ldentical to the 79 US CB650, but there were differences (wheels, seat, pegs). Scunny is over in NewZeland. That bike is a 650Z. Notice the alloy peg mounts, and the alternator cover ID's it as a 650.
