I asked the same thing about my block. RCjr said they did run some on the street but ran oil coolers good oil good jetting spot on ignition timing etc. He also said they didn't worry much about hurting stuff back then because they had a good supply of parts. I decided against running it because of my concern about it getting too hot. Like 754 said big oil cooler a must, also make sure your timing and jetting are correct. Wouldn't think you would want to run very high compression either if it is a street bike. I wouldn't run it on the street. On the up side you could sell it and get a good chunk of money for it, they seem to go really high when they are for sale.
