CR 750 Replica Shocks
« on: January 02, 2015, 05:41:27 am »
Hi Guys,

Hope u all have a great 2015 :)

Quick question.

Busy with the CR 750 Replica (Still - Year 3)
Used the standard CB 750 k2 front forks. (Rebuilt with "RaceTech" parts)
I'm trying to figure out the correct length for a set of rear shocks.
The standard K2 rear shocks are about 320 mm long.
With the standard set on the bike appears to be "sagging"  its rear end.
I used various length braces in the shocks place and have come up with correct balanced look for the rear end.
with a 365 mm length brace in the place of the shock the bikes stance appears to be correct.

Can anyone comment on this?
Who is the best company to go to for a shock like this?

The bike has 17" rims on it.

Thanks for all.

I had seen this tread before.
Better to search outside the forum in Google and find threads here since the old forum search function is no longer working as it did before with inbuilt google window.

Bonsoir Dion,

wemoto.fr have 365mm shocks in the correct configuration for the CB750 :

http://www.ebay.fr/itm/AMORTISSEURS-LA-PAIRE-HONDA-CB750-CB900-CBX1000-365mm-/390110561423?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_71&hash=item5ad466c48f

However at that price one could not be certain of the best handling !

Pretty sure the factory CR's used Koni rear shocks.
Also had 18" rims, front and back.

Maxton may be able to help
I couldn't get the link to work, but just Google Maxton Suspension and you should find them.

I've ordered a pair of GS 03 AR shocks from here :-

http://caferacersuspension.com/

He does them at 365mm and with the correct bottom fixing to order.
I'm only old on the outside.

The "sagging" look may be the 17" rear wheel, as 18" is more normal?
The stock shock length is 13.06".
