Baby, It's COLD outside!

5:30 am today, it's -3F and on the way in to work today I spotted a guy on a dirt bike riding down the road ahead of me!  DANG!  Wondering how far this guy was riding in that cold.  Surprised it even started.

There is some fellow around here that has ridden a moped trike to work and back last winter and this winter as well. I saw him coming the other way this morning, it was 1 deg F so he no doubt was having a chilly ride.

32 - 34 deg f here in beautiful Baltimore. Not quite cold enough for snow so its just freezing rain thats laying this slushy #$%* all over. Id rather the snow thank you, easier to work in.

Cold doesn't hurt my joints it's the changing from warm to cold and back again, for me the depth of winter is OK and the high of summer is ok but the transition is a bugger on either side I see the Huron and Georgian Bay are just about frozen over so it's going to be a long cold spring grumble grumble.

I saw that on the news this AM. Looks like another good year for lake levels. Evaporation causes most of the water loss and the ice cover prevents much of it. We were up in the UP last summer near the Porcupine Mtns and had never seen Lake Superior levels as high in many years.
