KO-K2 speedo and tach chrome dish woe.
« on: January 11, 2015, 11:47:10 PM »
Been tarting up my old K2 and today's treat was meant to be 2 new chromed speedo and tacho dishes with new rubbers.
Realised pretty quickly that the new parts were not exactly the same as original ones.
Here's a pic of the speedo one compared to original one. You can see the cutout is not the same.
Maybe not a huge deal but it turns out it's the same recommended part for the tacho side. And guess what?, Tacho does not have a tripmeter. So on the tacho side you've got a hole there for no reason.
Feeling a bit miffed here. Looked at DSS spares and they have the same part number for KO - K2 speedo and tach dishes.
Anyone else had the same happen?
Also be interested if anyone has a boxfull of the microscopic little screws that hold the chrome dishes to the instruments?

I do not know this model, but I found that there are different models when I searched for these plate set for my K6.
Speedo trip meter reset knob pointing down or to the side.

K0-K2 seems to have different Tacho - speedo models that is visible here

Yes, unfortunately for the K2, the correct tach plate is NLA from Honda and has been replaced with the same one for both speed and tach. Your best bet would be to find an old set of gauges and have the plates rechromed (that's what I plan on doing anyway).

And I went with this little kit for the screws
