Want to convert a 78 750K final output shaft from the 630 chain version to the 530 version to match up with the 75 750F frame. The complete unit would be preferable as long as the bearing is good.

Build beginning and I can't put the cases together until I deal with this issue.

Thanks.

I recently finished tearing down a 75- 750F engine that was already split etc. Think I know but  do you have a picture of what is, or the parts you are looking for Jerry.  Feel free to PM also if you wish, free for the shipping price if I have it.  Eric

Eric,

Go to this thread and look at reply 1027 from Bill. It's the final drive shaft coming from the engine that the front sprocket attaches to.

http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=109584.0;topicseen

It's the top picture except that shaft Bill has shown has internal threads inside the shaft. The 75F/76F/76K does not have that large hole with threads. It has a small tapered hole that is NOT threaded. Bill's is the earlier version that had the chain oiler installed.

Check this: #7 with all the pieces attached #6, #7, #20, #21 except sprocket ie bearing, gear, etc. You can vaguely see the smaller tapered hole in the diagram.

Measure the length sort of looks like the short version . And count teeth on big gear. Jerry by taper do you mean contesting, there has to be threads in the end to hold sprocket on..
I may have a 77K. One but not sure where it is.

Replacing the 77/78 K version with a 75F/76F/76K version to align with the rear sprocket on a 75 F frame. The 78 sprocket bolts into the end of the shaft but the 75F does not. Plus I do not want the chain oiler shaft from all the earlier pre 76 K's and I do want the double row bearing.
