Hi guys.
I'm looking to buy a carb sync tool. Any strong opinions on which one to buy. I'm trying to stay close to $100 or less.

They look good to me !!  At the current currency rate it looks like the Morgan Carbtune with pouch is around $96.00 + shipping, cheaper than when I bought one in the past.  Only thing I dislike about them is the short plastic fittings, longer aftermarket brass are better.  http://www.carbtune.com/carb.html

+1 for the Morgan carbtune. Less flutter than other sync gauges I have used.

I've had this set of gauges since 2008.  Still gong strong.
Contains all the parts/tools you'll need.  (dampening valves and 'MotionPro-like' adjuster tool also incl.)

The one in the picture about is the same as the $80 ones on EBay except it has someones logo on it. .
The EBay ones have dampener valves to remove the flutter. .

Morgan carbtune is easier to use .The are no valves to tweak to remove flutter.Nice and smooth consistent readings with less mechanical parts equals less inaccuracy do to mechanical wear or variation over the long haul. You can also use it for throttle bodies. Gauges are 40 year old tech. Work fine but less of a precision instrument if you ask me for my money. Why not get some modern Tech for the same coin. Just my thoughts.  Have used gauges plenty of times and these take way less time to sync carbs with. They are very simple and the reviews reflect all this. Also they have a life time warranty most of those Chinese gauges dont.its made in England. Why by harbor frieght for the same price as  snapon.....no brain er for me.

the gauges are presise and easy to use.  they are just as presise as they need to be .and not so kosty..robust..and can be used for pressure also..they are not only vaccum..

vhy spray fluid all over the bike..and have 10 meters of klear fuel line hænging and dripping and get dirty..vhen just 6 gauges to put in a box for store..no leaking from them

Morgan carbtune I am speaking of doesn't use fluid uses metal rods. Maybe you are thinking of the old school mercury ones or the manometers...check it out

Here is a side by side comparison from an article in a top British bike magazine.

Yup, the morgan carbtune is way better then the cheap emgo set ups.  And a few of the pricier ones just put a different label over the emgo part......

yes there are many types..
.i prefere just the gauge type.others like other types,,and have fine resultats

.it use not batteryes. low cost.are alvays ready for use. and robust..it just the tubes rotting avay..if any negative are to be said..it make my cb 550 goes perfekt..for lovest cost possibel...even it a cargo low cost produkt

Had a set of Honda factory gauges for a long time and they worked well just after using these I never looked back. Didn't have to worry about running out of gas in my auxiliary fuel tank I use when syncing carbs. It was very quick. The Honda gauges where pretty trick though because who has a set of honda factory sync gauges?

I have a set of factory Honda gauges and carb pipes I picked up in 1973 along with a factory supplied 'electronic' tester.  Love em both.

i have the morgon carb tune myself. I like them because the rods are very close together and easy to compare  to each other without having to move your eyes from dial to dial.

My oldest son is building a DIY manometer except his will be electronic using an arduino circuit board. Last time I saw it he already had the circuit board, digital readout and had it programmed, he just needed map sensors to complete it. By the time I added the cost of all the components up he could've just bought a decent manometer like the carbtune so I asked why he just doesn't buy one instead and he said I'm building my own because I can. That was a good enough answer for me.

I have the Motion Pro tool and like it very much. It works fine. The only suggestion I have is to put the rubber caps on top of the tubes when you're done with it. Disconnect the long rubber hoses that you attach to the carbs and cap off the tubes with the rubber covers that come with the tool. If you leave the long tubes on, over time, the blue fluid inside starts to evaporate. And since you probably aren't going to use the tool more than once a year "over time" is definitely going to come into play. But anyway, yeah, the Motion Pro one works nice.

I have used-old school mercury sticks, emgo gauges, morgan carbtune, homemade manometer.  Morgan carbtune was the easiest to use by far, old school mercury sticks came in second.  Now if I could just convince myself that vacuum syncing cb750 carbs is even worth the time and effort,  I'd try out my Motion Pro tool.

The board he's using isn't a genuine arduino which I guess are kind of pricey but rather a chinese made clone that's much cheaper but does the same things. It's actually a project that's been done by someone else so he got all the configuration info off the internet as well as the program, there are all kinds of programs for these boards online so what it can do depends on what you want it to do at least that what my kid tells me. At the moment his is still in rough configuration meaning it's not mounted in a box. He is a member on this site so if you want more info just do a member search here for bailboy and send him a PM and he can tell you what sites to go to.
