Alright.......so he doesn't have the details down....BUT!  I give him credit for even trying such a thing in the first place.  KUDOS to him!   TONS of work to get what we see in the photos.  Maybe next time he'll do a little more research on the "subject".

Huh, the engine looked like a 500 but it is kind of hard to tell. Dude tried and it is still cool.

The 500/550 motor looks close but the blend of other parts make it different. ..since it is merely art it doesn't have to run...so, the hybrid mix of parts just is for cosmetic eyecandy.
Recent ebay seller of a 60-70s vintage K&B Torpedo "Green Head" airplane motor indicated he didn't test it with gas. I messaged him and said it's a good thing, it isn't a gas motor.
He replied , "What is it!"
It is a glow motor, has a glow plug instead of a spark plug. Glow motors run on methanol based fuel that often has nitromethanol.  Spark plugs require timed sparks and a external circuit to provide the spark at yhe proper time. Glow plugs you get hot and the ignition of the fuel after running stable you can remove the battery and it runs until out of fuel if the mix is right.
So, clearly that seller wasn't a modeler and the same applies here. Guy doesn't have one to model it after...

Cool art but,
real thing isn't going get broke easy by the toddler...
toddlers could get "broke/damaged" playing with/on it unattended...

Only 40lbs? That must fly if you could stick a real 50HP motor in it.  ;D

I agree Steve, wasn't having a go at the work done , just pointing out the cantered forward barrels, the rear wheel, the pipes, the tank, the frame, even with its fault on the top rail, and more are all 750....I think its cool as well, lots of time went into that for sure... ;)

Gee, I think it would look great on one of my walls, even if it isn't accurate. Most folks outside our circle wouldn't know the difference. Here's a guy suffering from want and found a way to get what he wants.
Here is another artist that I posted a year or so ago, he works with cardboard,I would be happy with any of his creations too.
