Sorry, my question about the tapped hole was on the top of the bottom clamp in the picture. Where you posted the new VIN tag. Is that a modification for a different steering stop perhaps?

Ah, there are two of those for my headlight bracket with some spacers since the bottom of the bottom clamp does not sit flush. I can add pictures of this to show you if you'd like.

The paint on the frame looks so slick. Where did you get the replacement vin tag?

Yeah except it's chipped easily in some spots because the primer was put on in a cold shop. It will be coming apart over winter to re-do the things I don't like, that is one of them, it'll get powder-coated at that point.

Where did you get that simplified tach gear plug? I have one but it still uses the mounting with screw of the tach base, kinda bulky and I don't like it really. Yours is more so a plug that goes right into the hole with no mount? Is it just pressed in tight with an o-ring?

Yeah, mine does too. But think of it this way; With all the beautiful work and parts around the frame, it'll be the last thing people are really looking at.

I got it from Frank (754) on here. Yep, it just pushes in with the tightest o ring I could find. Maybe I'll use a bit of Hondabond if I see any seepage.

Those replacement VIN tags are pretty close. I try to save mine and re-rivet when possible.

I suppose this can use some updating.....

I also went on a motorcycle cross-country trip for two weeks and jammed over ~4700 miles, was super awesome but took some funds and time of course.

Anyway; tail acquired, hand made with a vintage red GLASS:

Internal throttle:

Neutral/Oil indicators:

Tank progress:

If you are to buy some of these, I highly recommend you speak with Mike at Power-Barn. Top notch Customer and Techincal Service, as it should be.

Carbs:

Had to send my swingarm out to have proper bushings and pivot bolt installed.

In the meantime, I GSXR front end swapped my daily and got some track time in:

Updates shall be posted quickly in the next couple months.

Bummer about the fitment issues on the swingarm.

Did you go with CR26s or 29s?

Thanks! I've been searching for the tail since I bought the motorcycle, took me over a year and change to find. Well worth it.

Supposedly they are spec'd to get my bike running and riding with my current DA, mods and such with minimal effort. We will find out within the next couple months, I hope! I ordered spare jets from Power-Barn as well for fine dyno-tuning.

Thoughts on rear inner-fender? The tabs are still there, I'd like to make something small to fit behind the wheel close to the frame to prevent dirt from getting into the carbs. I like the see-through part of my frame but I also want to protect carbs/engine as that's my primary concern.

That could work....problem will be finding something that'll fit or come close that is. Mounted to the swingarm, eh? I know someone ran a nice looking tiny fender that was ~6-6.5" wide but, a hugger sounds more appealing to me.

Just open-lapping, no awards or anything as such. I had a dedicated track 2007 R6 that was a blast. Can't really push too hard on your daily. I may go out tomorrow morning if the weather is in the high 50's with some sun hopefully.

It's tons of fun, full-leathers, getting on and off the motorcycle, etc. I will likely track my CB550 once it's done, obviously at a much slower pace but more so to take a peak at how different it is and how much the suspension performance change has gained.

Sounds great!  What track?

Have done it in my brothers race car but would love to do it on one of my bikes.

Located in Cayuga, Canada, about an hour and change away from me. I have also gone in a couple of my cars as well. It's a very small and flat track but still globs of fun. I plan on doing New York Safety Track in the Spring with my SV650. Tons of elevation should be a good time!

Looking sexy and damn that thing is going to be a cornering machine!  Which length Hagons did you have to use with the Calfab swingarm?  (Sorry if that has already been addressed.)

What would you do differently with the exhaust?  Looks like you have the best available (MotoGP Werks) already mounted.
