Where did you get those rear set brackets?  They look like the bolt right on?

Bought them from Coginto Moto. Added some aesthetics to them and needed some work for them to work for my setup.

Between Saturday night and all day Sunday the following was done:

Shifter side done, tail light mounted, internal throttle assembled, coil packs and rear reservoir mounted, kickstand modified, muffler tag holes welded/sanded down, fancy C5 ignition system install initiated. Can't thank my friend Christian (@Newman on here) enough throughout this entire build, he's been really coming through as of late. Stoked to see how it's panning out so far!

So GV,

What do you have left on your punchlist for this build.  It looks pretty close.

The list never ends somehow....sigh.

-Finish up the ignition install, had to get some different NGK boots for routing (insert OCD here)
-Scratch built complete harness
-Clutch cable
-Starter delete plug
-Under tail aluminum cover for aesthetics and to retain my R&R combo unit
-Rear fender
-Swap in a bunch of nice SS hardware
-Mount seat
-Find alternative petcock with carb clearance
-Modify rear brake rear-set for kicker clearance

Just a quick list for now, even though theres tons of other tasks on the list. I have a 61.5mm piston kit that was supposed to go in but, I may just build the spare 550 motor to throw in eventually.

Still researching a different caliper and rotor setup. Was looking into the newer style GSXR Brembo calipers and a Brake Tech floating iron rotor but not sure yet. Also looking for shorter levers that'll also work with my MC.

Hi Cal!

Do you happen to have a picture of your kicker, just out of curiosity that is.

Let's not forget I'll have a neutral and oil light as well that require some wires! :)

Noted, thanks!

I think he's running a rear fender Don, it was on his list.

Noted! Thanks Cal.

Anyone construct aluminum fenders for these? Seeing what options are. I'd really like just a hugger out back and something minimal up front.

A little update for those interested....

I made the seat bracket and tabs, had a friend weld on the tabs for me.

A few crappy iPhone pics:

Ditched the exhaust setup as I'll be running a Ripple Rock Racers Hindle setup from my buddy Kemp.

Still have the following to do:
*Fabricate a rear ventilated aluminum panel under my seat cowl for R&R placement
*Complete wiring harness from scratch with supporting diagram
*New triple trees with corrected offset - which means new holes for indicators, re-make an ignition switch bracket and also add turning stops
*Decide what tank emblems to run
*Address kick start lever issue as it interferes with my rear brake rearset
*Finish the front portion of my seat mounting
*Clutch cable
*Make a rear tire hugger "fender"
*Bleed front brake, add fluids, double and triple check all bolts, adjust valves, etc

Kinda torn if I want to run a 1/4 or 1/2 fairing....I don't in a way as that's the typical Cafe Racer theme and also because I don't want to take away from the awesome headlight I'm running. Maybe I'll use that as an excuse to build my other CB550F.

I like the idea, aesthetically.....with that being said, I will track it just to do it once, won't be a track bike by any means though. I just don't think I can stomach taking away from my awesome headlight, don't want to hide it with a fairing.

if the front end looks to light to you, maybe try a very small fender painted the same color as the tank to pull some of the main color up front.....could paint the bucket too, but I like that the headlight is stainless steel and might hurt to paint over it. those are all I'd really consider....except maybe like a bikini style fairing just over top of the headlight...
