Is there room for a fifth rider? :) I'd love to tag along if so! Also, if you guys need a place to store motorcycles by me I can help out, or if you need hotel accommodations a friend of mine owns one and could assist. As far as checking out some of my buddies stock, I don't see why it wouldn't be a problem for the stuff on his property. I know the building I referenced that he shares with his pal is a bit more of a pain to see as his friend doesn't want people in and out of the place. I'm actually going this weekend to check that building out though, super stoked on that!

I'll have to see if I can get my hands on that whiskey. I have yet to dabble with the caramel, dark chocolate, etc that's been mentioned. Kinda intrigued by the thought of it honestly!
If you're serious, shoot me a PM.  I'm actually meeting the other 3 riders tomorrow morning for breakfast and then we're going for about a 3 hour ride up into the mountains of northern Georgia.

At the very least, we would love to meet up with you and have you ride with us around Niagara Falls area.  With respect to hotels, I think we're covered.  My wife opens hotels for the Ritz-Carlton Hotel company so she's going to hook us up in Toronto at the Ritz.  And Marriott owns Ritz-Carlton now so we'll be using her employee discount to get friends & family rates for most of the rest of the nights.

And I'll bring a bottle of the Salted Caramel whiskey for you if you'd like.  (If you don't mind waiting until August to taste what heaven tastes like!  :D )

Lucky kid on both counts.  Marriott's friends and family discount is very generous. I got to use my friend's discount two years ago when we stayed in DC.  And he gets to try the Salted Caramel, too!  Death to the hipsters!

Just a heads up guys, the 50th anniversary of the 1967 Canadian GP will coincide with our Vintage Festival race weekend at Mosport (CTMP) August 11-12-13. There will be several celebrity racers and race bikes from the 67 race as well. (possible RC166)

Your plans may already be written in stone but thought I'd mention it anyway.

I'm an hour southwest of Montreal in Quebec, so if I can offer a rest stop, or place to stay or anything...let me know.

Sorry for the hijack.

Cool! I've spent a lot of time at Mosport - great track. Would be neat to see.

Why vapor blast to then cover with black powder coat? Why not just bead blast it and powder coat it? Seems sacrilegious to cover up Nil's art with wrinkle finish.  :o

I thought it was paint.  Is it PC? Is it wrinkle texture?  I'm looking with my new glasses but the iPhone can only show so much detail.  ::)

Plenty of his work to still showcase. :P

On a side note, does anyone have any CB550 CAD drawings? I do have a complete 550 in factory form at my shop I could measure and draw up worst case.

Sounds like a custom frame or portion thereof in the making.  If so, I presume Nick has a jig.

Are you race-cutting the trans, too, or swapping to GSXR rods?

Nick and I both dropped our gear sets off together so yes, those will be cut as well. Not sure on rods yet, going to see how healthy my factory ones are. If they need something beefier, they will get something beefier.

Last I spoke to Mike it was in queue so waiting on the master himself to get to it - no rush.

This is technically version 2.0 of this bike. "Round 1" was my maroon CB550 I built a few years back.

Different wheel setup, 674cc motor, different seat/headlight/etc....more of an aggressive look/performer that will be tracked often but also used on the street - nothing crazy.

There was a slight oil weep on one of the gaskets so I decided to re-torque the head down to ensure this was resolved before selling. Started her up Sunday, revved it a bunch and boom, no weep so out came the motor and everything else.

Please excuse the mess:

Picked this fairing cheap for one of my other CB's....doesn't look terrible in my opinion:

Also somehow picked up a 77' CB750F that is ugly but has some nice parts on it....it was a good deal so I had to....will be selling it once I mess around with it some:

This came in today as well:

and these:

Going to have friction reducer applied to the piston skirts and a heat reducer/insulator on the crowns of the pistons as well.
