Ignition system coils and electronic systems. HELP!
« on: January 15, 2015, 10:42:01 pm »
My brand new Z1 parts coils failed after no time!  Anyone else had problems with these?
I put the ratty old Honda one back on patched up and she sang again!
Only want to do this once and my choice seems to be new Honda coils or a full new electronic system like Dyna which is a bit pricey.

I seek opinions and advice from fellow enthusiasts as to the best solution.

This is my only problem left after 12 months of head scratching and toiling.

Sold as to suit honda four. Have sent email to them awaiting response. Don't really want to put bad on after bad.
Have you used electronic ignition?

Hondaman's makes a highly respected trasnistor ignition that you should learn a bit more about. Search will get you the link.
Pamco also has a nice affordable electronic ingition system for these bikes.
Then also sell a complete system including coils.

I bought a set of Z1 parts coils, they sent me the wrong ones, then gave me an address in Sydney to send em back to, then sent me the right ones, 2+3 shat itself within a year, I still have the 1+4 coil on there, waiting for it to go too.
The plug caps they came with were total #$%*, the brass screw that screws into the lead snapped off on the first two and I then just chucked the other two.
I once bought a set of reflectors from them, supposed to fit cb750 fork ears, the thread size was wrong and they cam with a nut but you couldn't put the nut on the inside of the fork ear because the fork tube would not go in then. I emailed them and they said I was the first to have a problem, #$%* that place, never been back.

I think they resell chinese stuff you can buy online anyway?i bought years ago from them some "heavy duty"clutch springs I could compress easier between my thumb and forefinger than the old stock ones,i rang them up and got some drivel about they are dual compession rate etc and some other baffling #$%*,they wouldn't refund but exchange only so I soaked it up with ngk spark plugs without shipping, they can go #$%* themselves forever and I hope they enjoy it!
