This bike was at a local bike in Auburn last summer. I'm not familiar with the bike, I'm sure someone is.

You know starred right at that dang bike and didn't put it together, I know Benelli and a 6cyld but I never looked real close to see some resemblance to the 750 engine.   :-[
Its been 4 years since last eye exam, made appt next month.  ;D

Clever 'body work' by somebody!
Note the ever-present, under Benelli oil drip pan... ;)
I wonder if those were shipped with the bikes?

It looks as though all the bikes have a pan-probably a show reg but you are right as most vintage Italian bikes had a slight  ??? tendency to leak(probably copied the Brits ::))

The forks and shocks resemble CB77, or maybe early CB450? The CB77 had a single front downtube that attached to the engine, making it the stressed member. The CL77 had a cradle frame, but boy, that would take some serious stretching to make it swallow this Benelli biggie!

For as many gussets as there are the guy's probably skilled enough to weld it out of anything, but my guess is it's not an early 450. There just aren't as many junk parts at the swap meets that I've seen.  Cl', CB 77' basket cases  seem plentiful.  It looks like it had a single down tube with a cradle added.

It's sure a masterful piece of work! The braces, brakes, CB77-type headlight, fine paint and chrome, too!

It's a clever design feature. You have to keep putting fresh oil in the motor, which means the oil never gets old & manky!

I'm sure you're right morini.  Plus if saves on the necessity to change the oil as it is constantly being replenished(long as the rider is diligent).

Yeah the J.A.P. old speedway engine were total loss oil, they gave up trying to seal the motor and just let it run out.  ::)

The kickstand has a bad leak on mine when I park it, but it seems to keep the chain oiled well when moving.
