It would be cheaper to buy a spare engine that is complete. Then you can rebuild according to what it needs serviced.

Trying to piece a engine together will empty your funds quickly.

I bought a 750F3 motor for $100US.  It was in pieces, in several boxes.
I spent another $1500US+ (I stopped counting  :P )  in tooling and parts to do a hone/re-ring, new cam chain/rollers, primary chain/roller, top end, seals, orings, gaskets, paint, sealants...etc.  I did it cheap, compared to some, here  :P

I rebuilt my 750k2 engine for like 500$ including machine work for the 836cc overview. A long list of things I wish I could have done but it is totally leak proof and runs like a top.

As soon as you mentioned euros I saw your budget go up. Everything is cheaper in the US (generally) and usually much easier to find for these sohc bikes

+1 buy a motor, a 550.   That's relatively easy to find here in the States but I think he's in Europe, may not be so simple.

I got my hands on one of the only UK 1971 CB500K0's that had the top end missing. The bottom end cost 350 euro in parts to re-build. Found a top end in the USA  from a low mileage bike at $100 and shipped it to the UK for $90. Fitted new piston rings, seals, gaskets and the engine was fitted.
The cam chain tensioner is one of the most expensive parts on these engines.

Make sure to check the primary chain on your CB500. Mine had stretched at was starting to make contact with the oil line on the bottom of the case. Cost me $125 from DavidSilverSpares to replace. Also, plasti-gauge the bearing journals while you're at it and replace anything out of spec. Once you know the bottom half is solid then start looking for a decent top half.

Or, just pick up a spare engine or parts bike. It will be cheaper.

The stamping code is what you need to match to the codes on the crank arms. In your manual there's a table to match the codes up to that will tell you the proper bearing journals you need.

Kranta restoration is like being in love, it's like taking your girlfriend out, if she's a stunner you stop counting how much you spend, if she's ugly you count the cost.

Good to see you are making the most of your resources.
That would be very challenging to put together an engine with limited supplies.

yeah, its kind big joke too here in finland. and its even our neighbour country. ;D
but back to motors. so, now i got one big problem. i have to buy plastigauge from germany and i dont know how many i need them because i have 10 bearings to measure and 5 bearing surfaces.
but, good news. i have one mate who have cylinder and pistons. :D
and my shopping list is this:
-kick starter axel. used and shipped in finland something like 40 euros
-welder (how weld my crank cases)
-gasket paste.
-gearshift drum guide screw system
-plastigauge
