Vance and Hines pipe. baffle?
« on: January 18, 2015, 10:55:06 pm »
I ordered a V&H 4 into 1, it's for my drag bike project but I want to try it on my 81 cb900c too. Either way it'll see some street action, has anyone built a baffle of any sort for one?  I built some mufflers for the F0/1 750 supersport pipes but open to new ideas too. After I bought it I remembered Cycle X has one with a muffler. It's a little more cashy though.

No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.

Please,

I'm running your 1401P "Pro Pipe" on my Honda.  My neighbor would like to know
the part number for a baffle that I could put in it.

Jon Hughes

Got this:
Jon,
The only baffle we offer for that exhaust system is the competition
baffle, part # 21260.  Retails for $27.95.

One of their ads says no baffle is available, thanks. I think there has been a price increase. $57 is what I find.

I used an insert  baffle for a car header in the V&H sidewinder I had on my water cooled GSXR1100. I think the brand was Vortex. I got it from Summit as I recall. It quieted the bike down a fair amount. I was mainly after the back pressure affect.

That's what i'm thinking too. I used the patriot muffler insert for a vette or cobra sidepipe in my F0/1 mufflers. It's not tapered though, I could cut one down.

It's fun coming home to a big Vance and Hines box on the porch. I don't have copper exhaust gaskets yet but the test fit looks nice and tight and they are so much lighter than the stock headers I was surprised. I might have to get another set for the drag bike.

The Vortex is tapered and comes in different diameters.
