Eric (aka ekpent),
Ed is correct, I just finished up putting in my All Balls tapered bearing kit on my K6 750.
First thing is to measure the stack size for the bottom bearing, so you get the right height and the steering stops are in the right place.
Measure (side by side) the old bearing (with at least a few balls in it) next to the new bearing with the spacer. Should be less than a 1mm difference between the two. Once you have the lower bearing stack height correct you can install it, following the All Balls set up.
Then you can put in the Upper Race into the neck.
Do a test fit and put the "castle" type nut on and see if/how much the gap is.
If there is a gap, then take off the "castle" nut and grind off the ridge inside the nut.
Put it back on and the gap should be gone.
I found that putting the nut on and snugging it down and leaving it for a day to seat, then coming back and loosening it up and resnugging it made the difference after grinding the ridge off. No gap at all.
If you want more info, feel free to pm me and I'd be happy to talk to you over the phone.
