so, what is top speed you can drive easily on 500/500 which one have stock motor and how reliable that honda cb 500/550 four motor is?

Every 500/550 I've ever ridden will easily cruise along at 70-80mph with stock gearing.  My '76 550F (with total-loss..no starter or alternator) will spin right up to 100mph easily, and tops out at a GPS certified 115mph.  Longevity relies on routine maintenance, oil changes, and the (lack of) abuse it goes through.

I also have a '76 550, but mine is the K model.  It is a great running bike and very reliable.

When u ride that fast, just watch out for the cops that said, I stay at 70-80mph hour long no issues.

measured with gps, max speed is 161kph with my totally stock 76 550F. it occasionally goes up higher but it seems like it's recorded as max speed only if held for a minute or so.
cruising with regular highway speeds (in europe) around 120, 130kph for hours is no problem.

reliability - depends on how you treat it. if you maintain it well (following the manual), only mistreat it occasionally and don't do anything too stupid (like running it beyond redline all the time), these engines will serve you a very long time.

I have done 80-90 on 287 and the NJTP for probably 60-70 miles. No problem.

they do the ton..if all is tuned vell,,,as standart...they can do a bit more..but dont trust my spedo..but 165 kmt is for shure..in all veather kondisions
